The Capacity Health team is dedicated to the health care principles of Chiropractic.
In the vast majority of cases, the human body has a natural inclination to be well with one of the greatest miracles of life being the healing process itself.
Whereas a cut or open wound may heal naturally without medical attention, other injuries – especially those relating to the muscular-skeletal structure such as lower back and arthritic issues – may well require professional intervention by a licensed practitioner.
The differences between chiropractic, physiotherapy, osteopathy and other related disciplines are not always well understood. The definition of Chiropractic below is provided by the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia.
What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasises the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.
The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. Chiropractic recognises the value and responsibility of working in collaboration with other health care practitioners.
Adjustment is a procedure used by chiropractors that utilises controlled force, leverage, direction, amplitude and velocity, which is applied to specific joints and adjacent tissues. Chiropractors commonly use such procedures to influence joint and neurophysiological function.
An Holistic Approach
While many people come to us with a specific issue to discuss, we aim to look beyond painful symptoms which are invariably the effects of some form of imbalance.
Our aim is to be proactive and to anticipate issues before they become problems.
Our ultimate goal is to understand the underlying cause of a problem, provide a holistic approach that takes overall health considerations into account and then seek to create and maintain a healthy, balanced individual.
The Capacity Health mantra is Restore – Balance – Prevent, which facilitates a state of health and vitality that offers you the freedom to enjoy life to the fullest and enable your body to be its best regardless of your time of life.
By ‘Restore’ we mean that we have a methodology for finding out where the true causes of a given client’s pain, discomfort and dis-ease may lie.
At the heart of our initial and follow up consultations is establishing how much of the cause comes down to the physical, chemical or emotional health imbalance.
Healthy, well ordered human existence is all about maintaining balance and finding, regardless of each individual’s situation, a middle ground between ‘too much’ and ‘not enough’.
Our perfectness as a human is that we are imperfect. Balance then is finding what works for that individual for where they are at, in that particular time of their life. Sometimes the stress of implementing too much change is counter productive to the person’s end goal.
The aim is for you as an individual to have more clarity and congruency around your health values and your families health. This enables the inevitable challenges of life to be negotiated easier with better health outcomes as the result.
